Spiber株式会社との4年間の共同開発を経て、生地の耐久性 や安定性など、THE NORTH FACEの品質基準をクリアした MOON PARKAは、シェル外層部分に新たに開発したブリュー ド・プロテインを使用し、2015年に発表したプロトタイプから大きく進化した。冬のアウトドアシーンからタウンユースまで幅広く使えるよう、DO MORE WITH LESSを哲学に考え抜かれたシンプルなデザインを追求した1着だ。シェルを開くと、深遠な宇宙空間に浮かぶ美しい地球が現れる。今から50年前の1969年、ニール・アームストロングが月に向かうアポ口11号から臨んだ地球が描かれている。人類未踏の過酷なフィールドである月面探索を志したアポ口計が”Moonshot“の意味を変えたように、人類の進化に貢献できるイノベーションの実現を目指す想いを込めた。

The four years of research and development with Spiber Inc., since the initial MOON PARKA prototype was unveiled in 2015 has led to an extensive evolution in the product. This jacket satisfies THE NORTH FACE’s strict durability and stability quality standards. The outer layer of the shell uses our newly-developed Brewed Protein material.
The latest iteration of the jacket features a simple, timeless design well-suited to any setting-from street to summit based on the philosophy of ”DO MORE WITH LESS”. Opening the outer layer of the jacket reveals an image of our planet Earth suspended against the infinite depths of space. This is the striking view that greeted Neil Armstrong 50 years ago during the Apollo 11 mission of 1969. Much as Apollo 11’s legendary expedition to the harsh, unexplored lunar surface forever changed the meaning of the word moonshot, it is our hope that the launch of the MOON PARKA may serve to contribute, in some small way, as an innovation that drives human evolution forward into the future.
